INCANTAVENTU – In Butera, Roots and Wings for Children’s Dreams

Tenute Navarra and Telefono Arcobaleno ETS bring back to Butera a grape harvest dedicated to children and young people from Sicilian residential care communities. On August 29, they will also establish a Pact for Children: a shared commitment between those who care for the land and those who protect children, in the name of a community that chooses to be there.

BUTERA (CL), August 27, 2026 – Some dreams need roots before they can take flight. This is the idea behind “Incantaventu – cultivating dreams in flight”, a project promoted by Telefono Arcobaleno ETS and Tenute Navarra that will bring 65 children and young people from Sicilian residential care communities to Butera on Saturday, August 29, for a day centered around the land, care, freedom and the possibility of imagining the future.

Incantaventu builds on the legacy of the first grape harvest held on August 29, 2025, as part of “Dalla Vite alla Vita”, turning it into an event intended to return year after year. The grape harvest remains the starting point: stepping into the vineyards, picking grapes and discovering the rhythm of agricultural life. But around this simple gesture, a broader story unfolds, built on the relationship between earth and sky, roots and wings.

The name itself brings together the project’s three essential elements: the wonder of enchantment, the song of tradition and voices, and the wind moving through the vineyards, making flight possible. In the same way, “Cultivari sogni in volo” brings together the patient act of cultivating and the freedom of something finally able to rise.

At the heart of Incantaventu is, above all, an idea of community. For thirty years, Telefono Arcobaleno has been committed to protecting and supporting children, young people and residential care communities, bringing its educational and safeguarding experience to the project. Tenute Navarra opens the doors of its agricultural estate in Butera, with 175 hectares of vineyards, olive groves and almond orchards, transforming the care of the land into a language of welcome and hospitality.

It is from the meeting of these two experiences that the Incantaventu Pact was born: an alliance between those who protect childhood and those who care for the land, conceived as a commitment to be renewed over the years.

“Incantaventu was born from the desire to give continuity to a simple gesture that left a profound mark on us last year: opening the doors of Tenute Navarra to children and young people, bringing them into the vineyards and sharing with them the rhythm of the land,” says Salvatore Navarra, Business Relationship Manager at Tenute Navarra. “This year, that gesture becomes a Pact. We want this day to return, to grow and to become an annual event that reminds us that caring for the land and caring for people are, ultimately, one and the same commitment. We believe our work can inspire and bring together the forces within our community, with the aim of helping this important social project grow.”

This is neither a fundraising initiative nor a formal obligation, but a declaration of presence. The Pact Book will preserve, over time, the names of institutions, educators, local organizations and individuals who simply choose to bear witness: I was there. Because, as the project reminds us, it takes an entire village to raise a child.

The large Incantaventu kite will make this promise visible. Its string will pass from hand to hand among the children, carrying with it one of the wishes that emerged from last year’s experience beneath the stars of the San Lorenzo night. A simple gesture that captures the meaning of the entire project: no dream should have to fly alone.

And while something takes flight, something else will return to the earth. At the end of the experience, each child will receive seeds from Tenute Navarra to take home and plant in their own residential care community. From Butera, a “germinating constellation” will thus take shape, symbolically and concretely, in different places across Sicily.

Because Incantaventu does not want to be simply a beautiful day. It aims to become a returning ritual, leaving behind, year after year, a mark, a memory and something to pass on to the children who come next.

One seed with every edition. One flight for every wish. One promise of the future for every child.

Tenute Navarra is a wine estate in Butera, in the heart of Sicily’s inland countryside. The estate covers approximately 175 hectares of vineyards, olive groves and almond orchards, set within an agricultural landscape where production, environmental responsibility and tradition coexist with a strong culture of hospitality.
The Navarra family sees agriculture as an act of caring for the land, people and relationships. This vision gave rise in 2025 to the first grape harvest dedicated to children from Sicilian residential care communities. That experience has now evolved into Incantaventu: a project designed to transform the Tenute into a place where the land becomes an opportunity for connection, growth and sharing.
